Perilaku Keagamaan dan Sosial Siswa Nonbuddhis di Sekolah Menegah Kejuruan Atisa Dipamkara Tangerang

Abstract


This study aimed to describe the religious and social behavior of non-Buddhist students in formal educational institutions characterized by Buddhists at SMK Atisa Dipamkara Tangerang. This study uses a qualitative case study approach. The subjects of this study were non-Buddhist students, Buddhist students, and homeroom teachers. Research objects Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation with data collection instruments in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines, and supporting research documents. Data validity techniques include the degree of trust (credibility), transferability (transferability), dependability (dependability), and certainty (confirmability). Miles and Huberman used and developed data analysis techniques, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions or verification. The results of the study showed: (a) religious behavior and views of non-Buddhist students towards Buddhism were divided into eight parts, namely the reasons for choosing SMK Atisa Dipamkara, ease of attending school, views on the religion they adhere to, views on Buddhism, non-Buddhist students' perspectives on Buddhism, non-Buddhist students' relationships with God, ways of respecting differences in beliefs, difficulties in praying in Buddhism, and difficulties in worshiping in Buddhism. (b) social behavior and relationships between teachers, peers, and the school environment consisted of ten focuses, including attitudes toward peers, students' daily lives at home, respect for teachers and Buddhist friends, and attitudes towards teachers or friends. Homeroom teachers, students' attitudes when experiencing learning difficulties, student discipline, non-Buddhist students' activities, students' daily activities in participating in learning, students' daily activities during breaks, and sanctions for violators of the rules.
