Analisis Roga Sutta dan Kesehatan Mental

Abstract


Permasalahan kesehatan mental di era modern, yang tidak dapat diselesaikan hanya dengan pendekatan medis atau psikologi. Ajaran Sang Buddha, khususnya dalam Roga Sutta (AN 4.157), memberikan pandangan mendalam mengenai penyakit batin (cetasika roga) yang menjadi akar penderitaan manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji mengetahui penyakit batin dalam Roga Sutta, mencari kesepadanan dengan psikologi modern, serta mengeksplorasi solusi Buddhis yang dapat diadaptasi dalam terapi mental. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi fenomenologi hermeneutika Buddhis, tela’ah literatur psikiatri, dan studi neurosains terkait efek meditasi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa empat penyakit batin dalam Roga Sutta memiliki korelasi kuat dengan distorsi kognitif dan konstruk kepribadian gelap dalam psikologi. Praktik seperti sati (perhatian penuh) dan santu??hi (kepuasan batin) terbukti secara empiris memberikan dampak positif terhadap regulasi emosi dan ketahanan mental. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ajaran Sang Buddha memberikan kerangka yang sangat penting dan mendalam untuk memahami serta menangani problematika kesehatan mental modern secara lebih integratif.
