Eksistensi Vihara Karunajala dalam Perkembangan Agama Buddha Di Wilayah Serpong

Abstract


This study aims to analyze data in order to obtain conceptual answers regarding the Existence of Karuna jala Vihara in the Development of Buddhisme the Serpong Region, this case study was carried out at Karuna Jala Vihara and Boen Hay Bio. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method to find out the situation by describing, explaining, and describing the Existence of Karuna jala Vihara in the Development of Buddhismin the Serpong Region with words and not numbers, based on data acquisition at the research location. This research was conducted in three stages, namely: planning, implementation, and reporting. The study was conducted for six months, from May to October. The planning stage is in the form of proposal preparation. The research implementation stage is in the form of data collection. The reporting stage is in the form of processing the data that has been taken and compiling research results. The research was conducted at Vihara Karuna Jala and Boen Hay Bio, South Tangerang, Banten. The reason the author chose to research the place was because of the researchers' interest in the existence of the Vihara Karuna Jala building which could have a certain impact on the development of religion in the Serpong area. The results of this study indicate that Vihara Karuna Jala is a Buddhist religious building that is integrated with Boen Hay Bio, which has long been a sacred place for Buddhists in the Serpong area. Since the Karuna Jala Vihara was built, Buddhists can carry out various activities that arecommonly carried out by Buddhists. In addition, the monastery is a place for generations to know and inherit Buddhism that has developed. Karuna JalaVihara became the foundation in developing Buddhism in the Serpong area, knowing that now many other monasteries are carrying out the task, but this monastery has its own role in the area where it was built. Of course, this monastery would not have been able to survive without the noble determination of the earlier Buddhists who had thoughts of deepening and spreading Buddhism by using the Karuna Jala Vihara as a place of worship and religion.
